International fair-festival "The Great Silk Way. Crimea 2003"

In accordance with the decision of the Presidium of Verhovnaya Rada of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea the programme of revival of "The Great Silk Way" was adopted in the autonomy.

"The Great Silk Way" is the unique experience of ancient times on the creation of the world infrastructure, which joined different states into a fruitful international union. The international experience of this kind is particularly essential at the current processes of world globalization. Many countries of the world take decisive steps in order to revive the ancient transnational artery - Silk way that will reunite Europe and Asia by economic and cultural ties.

International fair-festival "The Great Silk Way", which will be held on October 16th - 18th 2003 in Sudak (the Autonomous Republic of Crimea), is going to be the initial event of the programme. The organization of the international municipal club is one of the most important objectives of international festival. The main aim of the club is to build bridges of friendship and cooperation between Western and Eastern countries. The international municipal club will not only strengthen the economic relations between the regions, but will also become the source of the joint business-projects. Moreover, it will give new sense to cultural-historic processes.

The international municipal club will consider the issues of holding the international contest of projects of the programme "The Great Silk Way". The organization of the investment fund "The Great Silk Way" is going to be one of the most important aspects of this work. The fund in question will finance international and interregional projects. The activity of the club is planned as the network of international offices along "The Great Silk Way". Such organizing network will facilitate the efficient city cooperation on the basis of mutual respect and good will.

The operation of international municipal club will result in signing the number of documents namely addresses, protocols, and agreements. In order to go on the joint work the international working group is going to be created.
